Certified Medical Assistant $20-22/hr
Full Time Occupational Medicine Coordinator Medical Assistant for a local urgent care clinic in Bellingham! This is a contract to hire position you don't want to miss. Looking for a new career opportunity? This is it!
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:00, rotating weekends
Pay: $20-22/hr

Essential Direct Patient Care Duties:
- Perform employment physicals: DOT, and Non-DOT
- Diagnostic Testing/Procedures
- Visions, Height, Weight, Vitals
- Urinalysis
- PFT/Spirometry
- Audiogram
- X-rays
- EKG
- Fit-Testing and Respiratory questionnaire review
- Blood Tests
- Drug and Alcohol Testing - We help you get certified in these if you are not yet certified
- Phlebotomy
- Injections
- Urine Specimen Collections (DOT Certified)
- Breath Alcohol Testing (DOT Certified)
- Oral Swab Collections (Certified through CRL
- Hair Collections (Certified through Psychemedics
- Electronic Form Fox Collections (Certified)
Essential Indirect Patient Care Duties:
- Respond to Telephone Encounters in a timely manner and prioritize time-sensitive case
- Facilitate record requests on behalf of patients to assist providers with their medical determination
- Consult with Providers on difficult/complicated cases to better assist patients with their work clearance
- Perform daily calibrations on equipment and maintain records as needed for Quality
- Assurance Plan compliance
- Assist Occ Med Coordinator with troubleshooting equipment as needed by calling tech support and opening service cases
- Stock / order supplies
- Prep Appointments for the following day by organizing patient paperwork and referencing TRQ and patient medical history as needed
Administrative Duties:
- Manage DOT paperwork and documentation by entering into Federal Motor Carrier website.
- Drug Test Resulting
- Fax and Mail COC Medical Review Officer (MRO) Copies
- Mail COC Employer Copies
- Access Drug Test results through multiple online portals and print results
- Create result report form
- Securely Email or Fax results to employer/Third Party Administrator (TPA)
- Client/patient correspondence by phone and email (schedule patients, investigate billing issues, and answer questions)
- Result Physicals to Employers/TPA’s
- Manage medical supply ordering
- Coordinate and schedule equipment for annual calibration
- Coordinate scheduling for patient treadmill stress test and colonoscopies
- Prepare Clearance forms required for Respiratory Compliance
- Monitor Clinic and Electronic Fax and process requests
- Establish new Accounts with Clients
- Monitor organizational performance and strategize performance goals in the department
- Manage TRQ program including reviewing questionnaires, creating telephone encounters, call patients, update clearance and consult with providers if necessary

Job Requirements
- Must have an active Medical Assistant Certification
- Previous experience working in a hospital or clinical setting preferred, but not required
- New Grad Medical Assistants accepted
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) system
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy
